Zachary D. Crane, Esq., Managing Principal
Zachary D. Crane, Esq. is the co-Managing Principal of Dock Lane Capital. Zachary runs the day-to-day operations of Dock Lane Capital including loan origination, high level strategic structuring, and client relationship management.
Prior to forming Dock Lane Capital, Zachary was Managing Director and Senior Counsel at one of the nation’s largest FHA/HUD lenders. Prior to that, Zachary was an attorney in the real estate practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he worked on some of the most complex and high-profile real estate transactions in the United States.
Zachary is also a Partner at Crane & Witkin LLP, a full service law firm representing real estate owners, managers, developers, operators, and individuals in connection with corporate matters, contracts, outside general counsel services, and the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing and subleasing of real property (including in connection with complex joint venture agreements).
Zachary earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, a M.S. in Finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
Zachary lives in NYC with his wife and son and enjoys skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Devon L. Strauss, Esq., Managing Principal
Devon L. Strauss, Esq. is the co-Managing Principal of Dock Lane Capital. Devon runs the day-to-day operations of Dock Lane Capital including loan origination, client relationship management and business development.
Prior to forming Dock Lane Capital, Devon was an associate in the real estate department at Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP where he advised institutional developers, borrowers, private equity firms and high-net-worth individuals in connection with large scale industrial build-to-suit and leasing transactions, and the acquisition, disposition and financing of real property. Prior to joining Elkins Kalt, Mr. Strauss was an associate in the real estate department at Latham & Watkins LLP where he focused on advising commercial lenders, REITs, private equity firms and other institutional investors in connection with complex real estate mortgage and mezzanine financings, repurchase and warehouse facilities, corporate credit facilities and major leasing transactions.
Devon earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, a M.S. in Finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.
Devon lives in Los Angeles and is a Southern California native. In his free time, Mr. Strauss enjoys spending days at the beach with friends and volunteering with organizations such as the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation where he is a member of the regional board of directors.
